CPUspeed 1.05 (7KB) finds out at what speed your CPU's really running internally.
If you are overclocking your PC, CPUspeed allows you to check what's really going on.
CPUspeed shows an average and an instant CPU value.
The average is likely to settle down pretty quickly, while the instant value will always fluctuate a little, that's normal.
For those of you who own a laptop with CPU power saving features turned on, the instant value may go down when the machine is idle.
To do the CPU speed calculations, I use the time stamp counter (a counter inside the CPU which runs at the internal CPU speed) divided by a timer reference.
That should be quite accurate on most PCs - but no guaranty.
Here's PatternMon 1.0 (75KB), a utility to tune-up your 'X/Y-moiré' monitor settings.
Ok, let's suppose you just bought a great new 19" monitor. It's very likely that it'll have 'moire' setting controls, but you have no clue what they are for.
So here's how you can use them to get a better picture.
Use 'PatterMon' to set horizontal or verticals lines all over the screen, and then tweak your settings to minimize the 'interference patterns'.

What about a game of Nim (174KB)?
This game can be tough to win. Let the computer start to see how he proceeds!
